 Thompson channeled almost everything he achieved into his new company. After making about $ 70,000 in its first year of the sale, Thompson teamed up with Chris Dehnert, current CEO and local partner of Dugout Mugs. Dugout Mugs, originally called the Thompson Mug Company, was founded in Thompson's courtyard in downtown St. Petersburg, near Tropicana Field, home to the Tampa Bay Rays. 

Like some of the biggest and smartest companies we know today, Thompson’s Mug started with a garage, while Thompson worked full-time and then several.
